  32.     In the bitemporal model, it is union of rectangles.  
  33.     Moreover if your bitemporal space does not contain 
  34.     notion of future the bitemporal space reduces 
  35.     to triangle below the diagonal.  And a temporal 
  36.     element becomes union of triangles and rectangles.

  40. Term "interval" is used in a general sense too.
  41. For example, Section 3.15 mentions bitemporal intervals.

  43.     The term temporal element generalizes to spatial

  45.     element can be very complex.

  47. A temporal element reminds me of a picture element, which is a pixel.
  48. This unintended similarity may become more significant
  49. in a spatio-temporal DB which may deal with images.
